While Dawson has seemingly confirmed that Mena Massoud (Disney's live-action Aladdin) and Lars Mikkelsen (who voiced Thrawn on Rebels) are playing the live-action Thrawn and Ezra, Disney+ and Lucasfilm have yet to make any official announcements on the matter. As such, it's possible the Ahsoka TV show will feature Sabine in a leading capacity, building on the conclusion to Rebels. The final scene in the episode then saw Ahsoka teaming up with the Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren (another Rebels lead) to track down Ezra in the wake of the Galactic Empire's defeat at the Battle of Endor. Thrawn, of course, was pulled into hyperspace by Ezra and a pack of purrgil in the Rebels series finale, their destination unknown. "The Jedi" also confirmed that Ahsoka is hunting Thrawn around the time the episode takes place (five years after the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi), setting the stage for the Jedi's solo series starring Dawson. After recurring on Rebels and making a vocal cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Ahsoka made her proper live-action debut during The Mandalorian's Season 2 episode "Chapter 13: The Jedi," with Rosario Dawson bringing the character to life. Other rumored additions to the series include Rebels villain Grand Admiral Thrawn and Captain Rex - a clone who debuted in the animated Clone Wars series before appearing in Rebels and, most recently, the Clone Wars spinoff The Bad Batch.Īhsoka Tano was similarly introduced in the Clone Wars movie and served as one of its leads in the subsequent series. What's more, Ezra is one of several characters from the animated side of the Star Wars universe expected to make the jump to live-action on the Ahsoka show.

The Illuminerdi speculates that "Riz" is secretly the code name being used to cast Ezra Bridger, a fan-favorite hero from the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
